Isabel Urbina Peña

Isabel Urbina Peña is a multidisciplinary designer and art director from Venezuela. She runs her own studio from Brooklyn, NY., where she focuses on everything typographic: lettering, book covers, book design, typeface design, and branding.
She has worked at Penguin Random House, American Museum of Natural History, C&G Partners and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas Sofía Ímber. Her client list includes The New York Times, COACH, Etsy, The New York Historical Society, Refinery 29, EveryTown and Girlboss amongst others.
She is an AIGA NY Board member. In 2015, she was named New Visual Artist: 15 under 30 by PRINT Magazine. She’s a Type@Cooper graduate and ProDiseño Alumna.
Isabel loves to work on projects that have a positive social impact and is passionate about building a more inclusive design community. In her spare time, she teaches, speaks at conferences, makes zines, sews her own wardrobe and runs Yes, Equal, a database of women in the creative fields.
